HyCOMB Panels was selected to work with global biscuit manufacturers Khong Guan to support the construction of its new offices above its original factory site.

About the Project
Founded in 1947 by brothers Chew Choo Keng and Chew Choo Han, Khong Guan is one of south-east Asia’s leading producers of biscuits.
Today, Khong Guan products are sold in over 40 countries worldwide, including the Middle East, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, Canada, the Philippines, the United States, and parts of Europe.
After the original Khong Guan factory in Singapore was nominated as a historical building by the local government, the Khong Guan group took the decision to undertake renovations, including the development of a new office building to be situated directly above the original factory.
HyCOMB Panels was delighted to be selected as the exterior cladding partner for the project due to its commitment to producing environmentally friendly and fire-safe building materials, which were fully-compliant with local building codes and fire safety protocol – including BS476 Part 4, Part 6 & Part 7.
As part of the renovations, HyCOMB supplied stone honeycomb panels to cover a surface area of 2,500m². This allowed for both stunning aesthetics and a structurally sound exterior cladding application that maximises safety and provides significant resistance against the elements.
